Sterile Processing

Apparel used on animals with an antibiotic resistant infection or zoonotic disease that is presented to central supply for decontamination must be double bagged, using biodegradable biohazard bags stocked by Kennel Attendants.
Instrumentation must be immersed in an instrument germicide before being taken to central supply. See Sterile Supply technician if an item needs to be sterilized and returned to the department.

Biohazard bags shall be placed directly into the medical waste containers (located in Terry Center cooler) for incineration.
